Dr. Danica Harasym began her post-secondary studies in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Saskatchewan before earning her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. During her final year of training, she completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics in Huntsville, Alabama. After graduation, she practiced throughout Vancouver Island and the lower mainland before becoming an associate at Edgemont Optometry in 2011 and ultimately purchasing the practice in 2016. Dr. Harasym is very happy to be a permanent part of the Edgemont Village community.
Dr. Harasym’s professional interests include contact lenses, dry eye therapy, nutrition, co-management of laser vision correction and ocular disease. She is passionate about pediatric vision care and is actively involved in myopia control treatment options for children. She is a member of the British Columbia Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is a full therapeutic member of the College of Optometrists. She has also received post-graduate training in Behavioural Optometry from the Optometric Extension Program.
Outside the office, Dr. Harasym enjoys photography, volleyball, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She is very happy to both live and work on the North Shore.
Dr. Dorice Lee received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Winnipeg before earning her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. During her final year of training, she completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics in Houston, Texas. Following graduation, she returned to her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba to take on a locum position before ultimately moving to Vancouver and joining the team at Edgemont Optometry.
Dr. Lee practices general optometry as a full therapeutic member of the British Columbia College of Optometrists. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
In her free time, Dr. Lee is an avid boulderer, reader, and restaurant explorer.
Dr. Taylor Harris received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nanoscience from the University of Calgary, before earning his Doctorate of Optometry from The Illinois College of Optometry; he graduated Summa Cum Laude and as Class Salutatorian. During his final year of training, he completed externships at a private practice in Hollywood Beach Florida, a specialty contact lens clinic in Minneapolis, and an ocular disease rotation at the Brooklyn VA hospital. After graduation, Dr. Harris completed a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the New England College of Optometry. After completion of his residency, Dr. Harris returned back to Canada where he practiced Optometry in Toronto, before moving to Vancouver to be closer to family.
Dr. Harris is a full therapeutic member of the British Columbia College of Optometrists, practices general optometry, and takes a special interest in contact lenses. He is also a member of the BC Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
Outside the office, Dr. Harris enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, racquet sports, and spending time with friends.
